Meet Morgan

Morgan is originally from Rome, GA, and now lives in Mobile, AL with her family. She earned a BA in Sociology and Psychology from Birmingham-Southern College. She then earned two Master’s degrees from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson: one in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling, and the other in Theological Studies. She is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alabama and holds an Advanced Degree Certificate in Biblical Counseling.

Morgan owns and operates Morgan Walker Counseling, LLC where she serves couples and individuals with various challenges. Her background includes working in private practice, churches, schools, and hospitals with people of all ages. Additionally, she has worked with an international non-profit organization called Joni and Friends and currently serves as an online certification instructor for Beyond Suffering interns nationwide.

Morgan is active in local church ministry and enjoys teaching and speaking. These experiences help her address a wide range of needs.

FAQs

  • I do not want you in counseling forever! That is not the goal. This is a collaborative process that requires investment and commitment. Therefore, counseling will be as short as possible but as long as it takes. Most clients are able to see progress within a few months.

  • Yes. I use Simple Practice, a HIPAA compliant platform, to provide this option in Alabama.

  • Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes. However, some intake sessions may be scheduled for 90 minutes.

  • I offer a flat rate fee. Individual sessions are $130, and Family/Couples sessions are $140.

  • Yes. I have a limited amount of sliding scale slots available for 6 consecutive sessions and I gladly provide this. I want counseling to be accessible.

  • At this time, I do not accept insurance. I accept all major credit/debit cards, cash, and check, as well as Zelle.

    I can also provide you a superbill for your insurance company, if reimbursement is a possibility.

  • Afternoon and evenings are the highest demand. Please ask about current availability.

A word on my training and background

I am a Christian who works from a biblical world-view, and my practices emanate from this tradition. My training has equipped me to provide a biblical integration of Psychology and Theology. Many of my clients desire explicit faith-based counseling, and I provide this. I am also keenly aware of spiritual abuse and religious trauma some clients have experienced. I also work with clients who do not share the Christian faith. I do not impose my faith on you. However, it is important that I inform you of my framework, training, and specialties.
